Success! As you might be able to tell from the title I passed my exams. I'm now the proud possessor of the RYA Shorebased Certificate for as a Day Skipper for sail and power craft.
To quote my log book, this gives me the background knowledge to skipper a small yacht in familiar waters by day. Might not sound that impressive but it’s a start.
