So what are the three things that everyone should be buying right now? Gold? Government bonds? Personal Pension Plans? Actually none of these things. Building on the theme that the Uk is only nine meals from anarchy, (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1024833/Nine-meals-anarchy--Britain-facing-real-food-crisis.html) there are three vital commodities that no home should be without right now.
bottled water
tinned food and
a shotgun!
Nine meals from anarchy might sound far fetched but that was the expression used by Lord Cameron of Dillington, Head of the Countryside Agency, to describe just how close to starvation Britain's population actually is. Just three full days without food on supermarket shelves and law and order would start to break down, and British streets would descended into chaos. There might be 11 million gardeners in Britain, but your veggie plot won't go far when your kids are hungry and the baked beans have run out. Britain has not been self-sufficient in food since the late 18th century and the situation is rapidly worsening. In 1995, 27 per cent of UK food was imported. However, just a decade later, in 2006, it was 37 per cent. London and other big cities are even worse, with more than 80 per cent of their food being shipped in ever day.
So anyone with any sense is stocking up on bottled water and tinned food, the key being to survive until the population levels drop far enough to be sustainable.
Of course that's where the shot gun comes in! When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans people were rapidly reduced to looting in order to feed themselves and their families. It won't therefore be enough to have bottled water and tinned food, you'll also need to be able to defend what you have against those people who are not as well prepared!
This is not as far fetched as it sounds. Why else are they asking the army if they will fire on their own countrymen?
