A walk in the Park

Many people feel the world is going mad but I thought I’d heard it all until I logged onto the “Political Correctness Watch” website (See links) and discovered a story from Telford in Shropshire.

Park staff have been ordered to stop and quiz people using the town's park who are NOT accompanied by a child. Childless people in a public park will have to explain what they are doing in the park and could be thrown out by Park Wardens, or even reported to police, if the Wardens are not convinced of the reason given. It is to be hoped that enjoying a walk in a green and pleasant public space is acceptable?

The local council says the policy is a 'common sense approach' aimed at safeguarding children using the park. Telford & Wrekin Council may even use the Child Protection Act to require adults using the Park to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau checks or risk assessments before entering the park.

You couldn’t make it up could you!

  1. "Childless people" who are quized will obviously always be men.
We are now in a situation where a man on his own is universally regarded with suspicion and even playing with your own children or grandchildren is becoming fraught with danger of being accused by some spy from local government.
What absolute twaddle but the fact that the council mentioned is Conservative ruled means there is no fundamental difference between any of the three political parties not only about Europe but about the eradication of any freedom and democracy in this country.
Government is now the master and we are the servants and T.Blairs statement when first elected that "we must remember, we are the servants" was so much hot air and Brown and his bunch of clowns are now our masters who report to their masters in Brussels.
No wonder the British are leaving in droves.
