Spent New Year with my Parents in Majorca and we were all due to come home on a New Year's Day flight departing at 8.00pm. Arrived at Palma Airport to discover that the Newcastle flight was cancelled and the earliest we could get another flight was January 4th. So we didn't get home till last night.
Speaking to a couple on the flight they had the opposite experience. They were due to fly home tomorrow (Wednesday) but Easy Jet had told them they had to fly two days early because there were no flights out of Palma after 4th January until 8th February.
Easy Jet have cancelled the Newcastle-Palma Route for six weeks!
I think we are still just seeing the beginning of the effects of the recession and there are some tough times ahead!
Oh, it is too rush to go home on New Year's Day. I never do it because I know most of businesses are paused during New Year's Days.
